This was the best description of Jalandoni Memorial National High School (JMNHS) as they claimed their eighth consecutive title in taekwondo of the ongoing Iloilo City Schools Sports Association Council (ICSSC) Meet held the school’s covered gym on Oct. 13, 2018.
The team coached by Medy Alcarde and trained by Melcris Villarin bagged 13 gold, four silver, and three bronze medals in the competition. They were also declared overall champion in both the secondary girls’and boys’ taekwondo events.
The secondary girls’ captured seven gold and two silver medals, and a bronze while the secondary boys’ pocketed six gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
In the secondary girls’ Poomsae, the gold medalists are Adelyn Poral (Individual A) and Jelyn Grace Domiquel (Individual B). The duo also partnered with Indara Hermusora to clinch the gold medal in the Team Poomsae event.
Domiquel then paired with Dominic Jake Amoroso to win the gold medal in the Mixed Pair Poomsae.
Justin Mark Galvez and Amoroso earned a gold medal in the Individual A and B Poomsae, respectively, before pairing with Jay Mark Tabutol to claim another gold in Team Poomsae.
In Kyorugi, the gold medalists are Charlie Chua, Seth Caparal, Jason Patrick Paniza, Airesh Alviz, Vanessa Jean Bungalso, and Franzine Delayre.
Silver medals were awarded to Nikko John Paredes, Lenard John Mayang, Antoniette Alviz, and Leana Ancelly Deciembre. Joe Mark Tabutol, Steve Ian Michael Omelan, and Aiza Trinidad snatched the bronze medals.
