2017 SBP Milo Passarelle Regional Tournament: Hua Siong slay Tay Tung to pocket reg’l crown

THE secondary basketball team of Hua Siong College of Iloilo (HSCI) clinched the crown in the 2017 SBP Milo Passarelle Regional Tournament after surviving Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS), 56-52, at the Iloilo Sports Complex (ISC) covered court on Oct 8.

Hua Siong relied on the heroics of Mico Exaltado who made a good account of himself on both ends of the court.

Exaltado also made good steal and a last second conversion which gave his team the victory.

Hua Siong reached the finals after disposing St. Robert’s International Academy (SRIA) Panda Rockets during the Iloilo Leg, 66-56.

Tay Tung routed University of St. La Salle-Bacolod in the Negros Occidental edition, 79-59, to reach the regional finals.

With the victory over Tay Tung, Hua Siong earned the right to represent Western Visayas in the upcoming Milo Passarelle National Finals at the Mall of Asia in November.

Trained by head coach Vincent “Bing” Conlu and assistant coaches Anthony Joco and Rean Tupaz, Hua Siong team is comprised of Jann Paolo Villariza, Richie Galvez, Ceevee Palileo, Mico Exaltado, Jims Jimiera, JL Garcia, Kyan Celerio, Zion Sigua, Jaspher Antijendra, Jason Paloma, Gerry Santander, Deavon Canuday, Marrhieus Biyo, Lorenzo Uy, and Ronn Christopher Dinglasan.
