BLESSED with stunning heights, model thin figures and a mix of Spanish, Chinese and Filipino heritage looks enhanced by their effortless and regal glamour, two Ilonggas have made names both in the international and national fashion scenes, dahlings!
First is Rachel Santillan who clinched a remarkable contract by famed Chadwick Model Management, the same agency that handled Elle MacPherson.
Santillan’s unique features and projection has endured the competitive fashion career in Australia, which led to the coveted modeling contract.
Since then, Rachel has been to fashion capitals all over the world and her face became a staple in fashion magazines, runways, and even some remarkable movies.
Next in line is our dear country’s Catwalk Queen, Ria Bolivar! From a simple country lass, Ria and her swanlike movement on the fashion runway have gone a long way in the country and abroad.
She has a long list of modeling citations, including being named as one of Cosmopolitan Philippines’ Eight Sexiest Women in the country, and recognition by the Philippine Daily Inquirer and the Philippine Star as “The Muse” and one of “The Most Outstanding Youths” in the country.
With her looks and unique runway glide, Ria became one of the most in-demand models, both in local and international scenes.
Their advocacy now is to help fellow Ilonggas barge into the modeling scene.
They will both conduct a workshop to that will provide information “such as tips and training to improve self-presentation, projections, ramping walks which aim to deliver a positive approach for young participants and adults alike,” Santillan said.
Bolivar added: “The modeling workshop was based on our experiences in our modeling career for years, and will give focus on the fashion industry overview; health and well-being; grooming and etiquette; hair, makeup, and styling; photographic workshops; and catwalk lessons and runway training. It will not only help display confidence but also empower girls and young women when responding to casting calls, auditions, job interviews and everyday interaction with people.”
This modeling workshop aptly dubbed “Passion For Fashion” is open to anyone between 6 and 12 years old for the kids 13 and up for the teens and adults groups.
Registration fee is P5,000. The workshop will happen on April 26 to 28, 2018.
