Ravens sign Justin Madubuike to four-year extension
The Baltimore Ravens have locked in one of their key defensive pieces for the foreseeable future. The team announced a four-year contract extension for defensive tackle Justin Madubuike worth a whopping $98 million.
This deal includes $75.5 million in total guarantees, with $53.5 million coming at signing. Madubuike’s new contract will make him the second-highest paid defensive tackle in terms of annual average, only behind Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams.
General Manager Eric DeCosta was full of praise for Madubuike, calling him one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL and a cornerstone of the Ravens defense. The 24-year-old had a breakout year in 2023, earning his first Pro Bowl nod and second-team All-Pro honors.
Madubuike led the Ravens in sacks last season with an impressive 13, and even tied the NFL single-season record by recording at least a half sack in 11 consecutive games. Drafted by the Ravens in the third round of the 2020 draft out of Texas A&M, Madubuike has quickly become a key player for the team.
With this contract extension, the Ravens have secured a crucial piece of their defense for the long term. Fans can look forward to seeing Madubuike wreak havoc on opposing offenses for years to come.
