ILONGGOS have a new “coffee hole” with the opening of Koffieteria’s newest branch at Plazuela Dos, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
As we all know, Koffieteria is the only coffee and leisure destination in Iloilo that uses locally grown coffee beans, which is a big boost to local coffee farmers.
Koffieteria first opened its doors to Ilonggos through its maiden branch at the Iloilo Airport in Cabatuan.
Couple-entrepreneur Sam Smets and Gwen Cordon-Smets launched via soft opening their second coffee shop on August 27, 2018.
The grand opening of Koffieteria at Plazuela Dos will be this weekend.
According to Gwen, she fell in love with coffee because of her Belgian husband, Sam.
The couple wanted to give Ilonggos a different coffee experience, especially for those who want to while their time away or even on a rush.
In August 2017, Gwen and Sam opened their first branch in one of the busiest airports in the Philippines, the Iloilo International Airport in Cabatuan town.
Koffieteria was able to serve airport-goers with coffee distributed by La Roasteria, a popular coffee beans distributor in Iloilo owned by Salvador Mijares.
They also serve cakes, pastries, and pasta prepared by local suppliers. An addition to their menu would be the rice meals for people on the go.
When asked about what is different with the second branch, Gwen said, “We added more food choices in the menu, compared to the branch in the airport that only offered to-go goods, because people are in a rush.”
The new branch at Plazuela Dos will give coffee lovers a more relaxing experience with an improved interior design, stylish and comfortable seats, and instagrammable lighting and background. (Photos from Koffieteria Facebook page)
