BACOLOD City – Alleged Berya drug group bagman Ricky Serenio is on the run from the law again after he allegedly got involved in a shooting incident on Lacson Street in Barangay Mandalagan here early morning of Dec 5, 2017.
Police identified Serenio’s victim as 29-year-old Joen Villacoer, a resident Purok Bangrus also in Mandalagan.
Police Station 3 (PS3) commander Senior Inspector Jun Rey Batadlan said Villacoer was traveling on his motorcycle when another motorcycle with two riders drove to his side. One of the riders suddenly shot him before escaping.
Villacoer was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) for a gunshot wound to his leg.
Batadlan said that after interviewing Villacoer, they later identified the triggerman as Serenio while his driver remains unidentified.
He added that the incident is drug-related.
PS3 is presently conducting a hot-pursuit operation against Serenio.
Serenio was arrested in January 2017 in Talisay City, Negros Occidental by the now defunct Police Regional Office-18 (PRO-18).
After his arrest, Serenio “cooperated” with law enforcement agents and released the names of police officers, politicians, and other law enforcers agents allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade in Negros Occidental.
