NOCCPO chief cautions mayors vs cops asking aid

BACOLOD CITY – Senior Supt. Rodolfo Castil, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) director, on August 20, 2018 cautioned mayors and other politicians in the province to be careful in extending help to police officers.

Castil added that the backgrounds of these cops who want to join the PNP should be examined.

He cited an instance where a mayor, whom he did not identify, was asking to transfer a policeman to his town but the cop was already transferred to another assignment as he was allegedly involved in illegal drug activities in the province.

Castil said that the politicians might be surprised if they are accused of being illegal drug protectors without their knowledge for helping cops involved in illegal activities.
