No lead yet in Tan ambush

BACOLOD City – POLICE are still clueless on the suspects in the assassination attempt on Bacolod City Councilor Ricardo Tan and his wife a month ago.

Senior Supt. Francisco Ebreo, Bacolod City Police director, said there is no lead yet on the persons who ambushed the couple.

Tan and his wife Nita were slightly wounded after they were ambushed by unidentified gunmen at Purok 12A, Barangay Alangilan, Bacolod City on Dec 14, 2018.

Based on radio reports, the Tans were heading back to Bacolod City from Campuestohan Resort in Talisay City when waylaid.

Tan managed to speed away from the area and proceeded to the Riverside Medical  Center

A total of 26 empty shells of caliber 5.56 and .45 bullets were recovered from the crime scene, while a total of 42 bullet holes were found all over the Tans’ vehicle.

The police are investigating three motives – land grabbing, business rivalry, and illegal drugs.

Tan himself could not think of any motive why anyone wants him dead.
