BACOLOD City – Mayor Evelio Leonardia said on June 11, 2018, said he is not affected by talks that Abang Lingkod Party-list Rep. Stephen Paduano will run for mayor here in 2019 with former vice mayor Thaddy Sayson as his running-mate.
“I have no reaction, May they live happily ever after,” Leonardia told reporters.
Leonardia stressed that for now, he does not allow politics to intervene in his work as “when the time comes, we campaign hard.”
The Paduano-Sayson tandem came to fore after the recent mass oath taking of 17 newly elected barangay, which Paduano initiated.
Leonardia said at least half of the 17 barangay captains were also talking to him personally.
He added that on June 14, 2018, he would also lead another mass oath taking of all the barangay captains, SK chairpersons, and kagawads who won in the recent elections.
He said the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) initiated the activity in coordination with the city government.
The guest of honor of the mass oath taking at the SMX Convention Center is Undersecretary Francisco Tolentino.
