‘Leave no stone unturned in lawyer’s slay probe’

BACOLOD City –Chief Supt.  John Bulalacao, PNP Region 6 director, ordered the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) here to leave no stone unturned in the investigation on the murder of lawyer Rafael Atutubo.

Atutubo was   gunned down by motorcycle-riding suspects in front of his house at Galo-Hilado Streets, Brgy. 20, Bacolod City, morning of Aug 23, 2018.

Bulalacao issued the ordered on Sept 3 during the launch of the Crime Prevention Week held in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

He said that he is not setting a deadline for the investigation as the pressure might force the police to pin down a fall guy.

Bulalacao stressed that he wants to arrest the suspects and bring them to justice.

Earlier, Senior Supt. Francisco Ebreo, BCPO director, said that based on initial investigation, two masked suspects shot the lawyer at close range in front of his house around 11 a.m. of Aug 23.

Atutubo was declared dead on arrival at the Bacolod Doctor’s Hospital.

Reports revealed that the slain lawyer handled several drug cases in the city.

Police believe that the suspects were hired guns.
