BACOLOD City – “I will ensure that the voice of the barangays will be heard in the Capitol.”
This was the assurance of village head Jovie Pepillo of Brgy. 9, Victorias City in Negros Occ. who will be challenging incumbent Liga ng mga Barangay president Anabelle Bermudo of La Carlota City during the Liga ng mga Barangay elections on July 30, 2018.
Pepillo said that her voice “will be the voice of the barangays.”
“You cannot give what you don’t have,” she said.
Pepillo said that all village heads in Negros Occidental should “feel that there is Liga for them.”
She said that if she wins as Liga president, she will advocate for an intensified anti-illegal drug awareness in all barangays because of her close involvement with the Negros Occidental Drug Rehabilitation Foundation.
“This is also in answer to the call and signs of the times where drugs are a menace to society,” she said.
She added that another of her advocacy is to implement the programs and projects of 3rd district Rep. Alfredo Benitez in the province.
Pepillo said that “after the elections, divisions should be set aside because all of us just want to serve our constituents so we have to work together.”
