BACOLOD City – Police in Isabela, Negros Occidental are validating reports that illegal drug peddlers are using private vehicles in “dropping” their contrabands.
Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor told the Daily Guardian that they received reports of drug peddlers using private vehicles like vans to deliver shabu to their customers.
Malabor said that illegal drug peddlers no longer stay in their house to sell shabu but have resorted to “mobile distribution.”
Based on their monitoring reports, the vehicle would usually stop in a certain area where the clients or users meet to get their supply.
Malabor said his strong stance against the illegal drug trade in his town has generated threats to his life from suspected drug lords.
“They are not from here, they are from outside the town,” he added.
He said that he has asked the local police to conduct and intensify checkpoints in the town.
