BACOLOD City – The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has endorsed to the Office of the Ombudsman the complaint signed by more than 300 residents of Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental against Mayor Magdaleno Peña.
A letter from the Office of the Ombudsman furnished to reporters here showed that the complaint is being processed and is on 1st Endorsement dated June 28, 2018.
Anti-crime and corruption group Task Force Kasanag filed the complaint against Peña in behalf of the 391 signatories.
Meanwhile, Ka JB Regalado, spokesman of the Leonardo Panaligan Command of the New People’s Army, lauded the complainants for taking courage in filing the complaint against Peña for alleged incompetence and non-performance.
In a statement, Regalado said Peña pledges to render genuine service to the people are all “empty promises.”
In fact, Regalado said the mayor has no performance because the latter purportedly seldom reports to his office.
He also accused Peña of sowing terror and fear among the residents through his alleged armed goons.
He urged the people of the 5th district to support the Moises Padilla residents in their “cause” against Peña.
