Three fall in Roxas City drug busts

ROXAS CITY, Capiz—Three suspected drug peddlers were arrested by police in two drug buy-bust operations on April 14, 2018.

Members of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit(PDEU) led by Senior Insp. Hilbert Gervero first conducted a buy-bust operation near a hardware store at Barangay 7 here which led to the arrest of Restituto Oquendo Jr., 41, of Brgy. 7; and Ace Baes, 37, of Brgy. Lawaan here.

Recovered from the Oquendo and Baes were five sachets of suspected shabu, P500 marked money, P1,000 cash from Oquendo and a motorcycle used by the suspects.

After the two told the police their source of shabu, the PDEU conducted a follow up operation and arrested Andrew Patino at his house in Brgy. 5 here.

Recovered from Patino were four sachets of suspected shabu, digital weighing scale, a lighter and a motorcycle.

The trio is presently detained at the lock up cell of the Roxas City police station while the recovered illegal drugs were brought to the PNP Crime Laboratory in Iloilo City for examination.

Oquendo is the son of incumbent village chief Restituto Oquendo Sr. of Brgy. Hipona Pontevedra, Capiz, while Baes is a security guard of Pueblo De Panay here.
