FOLLOWING the successful City Proper district rally, Team Arangka led by Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III, continues to gain overwhelming support as 3,000 crowd jam-packed the Mandurriao gym on Saturday.
Those who came in droves were already standing in the filled up gym as they pledged support to Espinosa and Team Arangka.
The supporters were jumping and shouting “daog na (we won)” in what was seen as a “victory party” for Team Arangka.
“The warm response of residents is a testament of trust and confidence to my leadership and administration. Let us continue the good governance and work together to bring projects and services closer to constituents,” Espinosa stressed.
Tens of thousands of beneficiaries especially indigents, senior citizens and Persons with Disabilities have benefited in the Pag-ulikid or care outreach program that brings medical, dental, wheelchairs, discount IDs and booklets, and processing of birth and marriage certificates, among other services to people in the barangays since Espinosa started the initiative a year ago.
Espinosa’s style of public service of providing easier access to services and opportunities to recipients has been well received in the grassroots level.
People find it convenient to avail of services as they do not need to go to City Hall anymore but they are being given attention to address their needs in the barangays.
Political leaders also vouched support to Espinosa upon seeing his sincerity in public service.
Former congressman Rafael “Paeng” Lopez Vito, former “mayor of the masses” Mansueto “Mansing” Malabor, first lady mayor Rosa Caram, former vice-mayors Dr. Guillermo “Guiling” dela Llana and Victor Facultad, and Larry Jamora, former chief of Local Water Utilities Administration, have committed to help Espinosa win in the May 13 mid-term elections. They have maintained huge following and bands of loyal supporters through the years.
Espinosa thanked the leaders for their endorsement for him to continue serving the Ilonggos with transparent, participatory and inclusive governance benefiting the majority.
The mayor pursues the city’s achievements in its anti-illegal drugs campaign and accomplishments in anti-criminality drive to maintain a progressive society.
Espinosa vows to sustain the city’s gains in socio-economic progress being felt by locals and visitors alike, making the metropolis a more livable, safe and peaceful place for all.
