‘Stolen veggies’ lead to shooting

A FARMER stormed the house of his neighbor and shot the latter evening of Feb. 2, 2017 in Mina, Iloilo all because of stolen vegetables.

Victim Rodolfo Prior, 70, also a farmer and resident of Purok 2, Barangay Agmanaphao, was wounded on the back.

Prior was rushed to the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan town.

The suspect, Arnulfo Nograles fled after shooting the victim.

According to Senior Inspector Ma. Theresa Liro, Pototan police chief, the 54-year old suspect accused Prior of stealing from his vegetable farm.

The confrontation came to head when Prior passed by Nograles’ house.

The suspect then warned the victim against passing by his house but Prior took the warning in stride.

On Thursday evening, Nograles made a quick visit to the victim’s house and shot the latter who was preparing his dinner.

The suspect then fled after the incident and remains at large.
