A GAY Russian woman was arrested after she accidentally killed her lover early morning of Feb. 15, 2017 in Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan.
The couple, who were both drunk, got into a nasty fight prior to the incident, according to police reports.
The suspect, 30-year old Uliana Zemlekhanova, later went out of their room in AJ Traveller’s Inn at Sitio Manggarad, Barangay Balabag.
Zemlekhanova’s lover, 33-year old Iuliia Burmistrova also went out of their room around 2:55 a.m.
Zemlekhanova then pushed Burmistrova but to the suspect’s horror, the latter fell from the top of the stairs of the inn’s second floor.
Burmistrova landed head first on the ground floor.
The Alert Medical Center evacuated the victim at around 3:20 a.m. but she did not survive.
Zemlekhanova was subsequently arrested in a hot pursuit operation.
Senior Inspector Jess Baylon, Boracay Tourist Assistance Center (BTAC) chief, said while the suspect was held in their custody, she was not jailed as the BTAC’s lock-up cell was already full of detainees.
Inquest proceeding for homicide was initiated against Zemlekhanova at the Aklan Provincial Prosecutors Office on Feb. 16.
