Presidential daughter and Davao mayor Sara Duterte finally puts an end to speculations as to who is her real candidate for governor of Iloilo by endorsing Doctor Ferj Biron, 4th District representative, during a recent Hugpong ng Pagbabago meeting at the Las Piñas residence of Sen. Cynthia Villar.

ILOILO 4th district Rep. Ferjenel Biron will win the gubernatorial race on May 13, 2019 by a margin of approximately 60,000 votes, according to the latest poll survey conducted by Random Access Consultants, Inc. (RACI).

With 5,030 respondents, 1.4% margin of error, and a 95% level of confidence, the RACI survey done March 26 to April 3, 2019 showed Biron leading by 60,000 votes approximately.

The survey used the Multi-Stage Probability Sampling in selecting the respondents from 405 barangays in Iloilo province. Data was collected through face-to-face interviews with the respondents.

The respondents are residents who are at least 18 years old and registered voters of the province of Iloilo.

The latest survey indicated that Biron got the nod of 51.7 percent of the respondents, up by 4.5 percent from the Dec 8 – 14, 2018 survey also conducted by RACI.

Biron’s rival, Rep. Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr., got 45.9 percent of respondents, a 5.6 percent drop from the 51.5 percent share he scored in the December 2018 survey.

In the July 25 to 29, 2018 survey also by RACI, Defensor Jr. was ahead at 60.7 percent voter preference against Biron’s 32.2 percent.

In a span of nine months, Biron has erased Defensor Jr.’s lead and is now ahead of the race with less than a month left before the elections.

The latest RACI survey also validated another independent survey by Metro Manila-based firm Philippine Survey and Research Center (PSRC) on Feb 16-21, 2019, which indicated that Biron has the nod of 52 percent of the 500 respondents while Defensor Jr. has 38 percent.

In the vice-gubernatorial race, incumbent Christine “Tingting” Garin is still ahead with 51.9 percent voter preference against Mayor Niel “Beng” Tupas III who scored 45.9 percent.

The survey also showed that Biron is winning in four of five congressional districts while Defensor leads only in the third district.
