A MONTH before the Dec 7 to 8 Job Fair, the Public Employment Services Office (PESO)-Iloilo welcomes pre-registration of job seekers in their extension office on the third floor of the Iloilo Provincial Capitol.

To date, 155 applicants had already accomplished their pre-registration forms, PESO-Iloilo Chief Francisco Heler said.

PESO Iloilo targets 150 local and overseas companies to participate.

111 companies have confirmed their participation, gathering a total of 29, 000 job vacancies and job orders to be filled in.

Heler said that the vacancies are consisting of 23, 823 job orders for overseas employment and 5,177 job vacancies for local employment.

On Dec 7, overseas recruitment agencies; Business Process Outsourcing (BPO); hospitals; banks or microfinance; logistics; real estate; and government agencies will accommodate jobseekers.

Retail or wholesale companies; manufacturing companies; food service; car companies; and hotels will welcome jobseekers on the following day, Dec 8.

The PESO Job Fair will be conducted at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol and Casa Real De Iloilo, or the old capitol building.

Help desks from Commission on Audit (COA); National Bureau of Investigation (NBI); Social Security System (SSS); Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA); Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA); among others, will be established in the venue.

Heler reminded jobseekers, both for local and overseas employment, to bring with them their certificate of employment.

Kung may ara na sila nga mga clearances like NBI, police, Baranagy clearances dal-on man nila pero kung wala pa, indi lang anay sila magkuha,” he said.

“For overseas, amo man na ang certificate of employment kag ang ila pasaporte dal-on nila, photocopy lang guid kay ginakuha na nila dayun, ginadala ina sang mga company representatives,” he added.

The PESO anticipates more companies to confirm their participation on the job fair which means that more jobs will be needed to be filled in.

Furthermore, the PESO will have a Special Recruitment Activity (SPA) for E-GMP International Corporation for female nurses bound for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today, Nov 7, 2018 and Industrial Personnel and Management Services, Inc. (IPAMS), also for female nurses bound for United Kingdom on Nov 9 to 10, 2018.

The SPA will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the said dates at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol.

Last year, the PESO was able to place 5,577 job seekers through job fairs done twice every year, Heler said.
