A GAME fowl farm lost more or less P300,000 after several fighting cocks were killed and injured in a stray dog attack Barangay Gaub, Cabatuan, Iloilo.

The farm’s caretaker said he left the cocks in good condition at around 8 p.m. on August 21, 2018. But when he returned 6 a.m. the following day, he found the severely-battered cocks on the ground.

The farm, which is reportedly owned by Lorenzo Librando Jr., has more than 70 game fowls.

Around 45 were either killed or injured. 15 injured game fowls were not expected to survive. One of the dead cocks was part of a trio bought at P60,000.

Police Officer 2 Dennis Tiron, Cabatuan police investigator, said the attackers did not spare the chicks.

According to the Department of Agriculture, it is likely that at least three stray dogs raided the cock farm.

“They based it on footprints seen all over the farm,” Tiron said.

Three weeks ago, three fighting cocks were also attacked in the nearby area.
