Man killed in road mishap

A 35-YEAR-OLD man was killed in a vehicular accident, afternoon of Sept 10, 2018 at Barangay Mat-y, Miagao, Iloilo.

Ermeo Bredias of Barangay Aguiauan, Miagao, Iloilo died after he lost control of his motorcycle and skidded off the road at Barangay Mat-y, Miagao, Iloilo.

At around 3:15 pm, Bredias was running at high speed towards Miagao town proper when another motorcycle driven by Rey Forugana, 55, traversed from the junction of the University of the Philippines Visayas road, said Chief Insp. Johnny Tumambing, Miagao police commander.

Tumambing added that Bredias suddenly applied his brakes and lost control of the bike.

Bredias was thrown off his Honda CST MSE motorcycle and succumbed to serious head injury.

The victim’s helmet was smashed due to the strong impact, police report said.

Bredias was rushed to the Rep. Pedro G. Trono Memorial Hospital in Guimbal, Iloilo and later transferred to the Western Visayas Medical Center where he was declared dead.

Fortugana, on the other hand, obtained bruises and scratches on his left leg and arm, Tumambing said.

Tumambing reported that vehicular mishaps involving motorcycles is the most prevalent accident in Miagao town.
