‘Love triangle’ eyed in shooting incident

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The police are eyeing “love triangle” as the motive behind the death of a man evening of Aug 31, 2018 in Lanot village here.

Supt. Dante Tayco, Roxas police chief, said that based on their investigation, suspect Erwin Belo has an affair with a certain Erna Clavaton.

Police believe that Erna’s husband, Jorly Vim, may have discovered the affair, prompting Belo to kill him.

Tayco said Erna wanted to end her almost one year relationship with Belo, but the latter disagreed.

Clavaton went to the office of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Capiz to report Belo who allegedly harassed and threatened her.

An unidentified suspect shot Jorly Vim while he and his wife flagged down a Ceres bus at Crossing Lanot. The victim died at the hospital.

Erna, who works in Passi City, Iloilo, helped the police locate Belo at Binangig Panay village here.

Belo is a bus driver, has two children but was separated from his wife.

The Clavatons have three children.
