IVISAN, Capiz – Nine sachets of suspected shabu were recovered from a 32-year-old man during a drug buy-bust operation conducted by Station Drugs Enforcement Team of Ivisan Municipal Police Station late Saturday afternoon, August 11, at Sitio Boulevard, Barangay Ondoy.
Police identified the suspect as Rex Caputero Durana who was collared after consummating the transaction with an undercover cop.
According to Inspector Ricardo Jomuad Jr., officer-in-charge of Ivisan police station, they conducted weeks of monitoring and surveillance on Durana before the bust.
Investigators are still determining Durana’s source of shabu.
Durana strongly denied thta he was into drug-trade. He said he did not own the recovered drugs and the buy bust money, claiming these were “planted.”
But he admitted using drugs two years ago but he already stopped.
Durana is presently detained at the lock-up cell of Ivisan Municipal Police Station while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed against him.
