Five fall in drug busts in Iloilo, Capiz

ILLEGAL drug peddling continues despite the bloody war on drugs.

Five persons were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Iloilo and Capiz on Wednesday.

In Arevalod district, Iloilo City, Arsenio Fabular of Barangay Cubay, Jaro was collared for allegedly selling  two sachets of suspected shabu to an undercover cop.

The buy-bust happened 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at Barangay Sto. Niňo, Arevalo.

Members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-6 and Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS)-6 in Arevalo also seized from Fabular a box of cigarette containing six more sachets of suspected shabu and the Php2,500 marked money.

Fabular is a newly identified drug personality who allegedly peddles shabu to women in exchange for sex, a police report indicated.

The suspect is now jailed at Arevalo police station.

In Iloilo province, two men were nabbed in an anti-narcotics operation conducted by Lambunao municipal police.

Arrested were Jessie Ferraris, 40, of Barangay Poblacion, Ilaya, Lambunao and Virgilio Bandada, 27, of Barangay Batuan, Pototan, Iloilo.

The duo allegedly sold one sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for Php100.

Police also confiscated one more sachet of illegal drugs and Php400 cash from the suspects.

Ferraris and Bandada, who are now detained at the jail facility of Lambunao police station, will be charged for drug peddling.

Also, two persons were arrested Wednesday morning in a buy-bust operation by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) at Pueblo De Panay township in Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City.

The suspects are Johann Patrick Bonete Dequiña, 39, and temporarily residing in Barangay Dayao, Roxas City; and Jingle Victoriano Potato, 42, and resident of Poblacion, Mambusao, Capiz.

Senior Insp. Hilbert Gervero, PDEU team leader, said the two are newly identified drug personalities.

Aside from four sachets of suspected shabu, police also seized from the suspects the P1,000 marked money.

The duo denied they were involved in the illegal drug trade.

According to Dequina, he went to Lawaan village with Potato to buy milk in a mall but they were when police blocked their multicab car and arrested them.

The two admitted to using illegal drugs but they already stopped.

The suspects are detained at the Roxas City police station.
