AN EX-CONVICT was shot dead by still unidentified assailants at Sitio Carig-on, Barangay Agsanayan, Buenavista, Guimaras morning of October 10, 2018.
Nataniel Jover, who was convicted of murder, was riding a jeepney when riding-in-tandem gunmen attacked him.
Senior Inspector Jeffrey Ferrer said that in 2009, Jover killed municipal employee Gerardo Gonzales by stabbing the latter multiple times.
Jover was also behind the death of two more victims.
He allegedly killed a seafarer by hitting his head with a rock on the head and punished his 2-year-old niece to death.
“Kung halimbawa, makit-an ‘ya ukon malabyan, makursonadahan niya nga patyon, patyo niya guid. Ang nagkalamatay, wala man atraso sa iya,” Ferrer said.
The suspect was detained at Buenavista police station. He already served his jail sentence and was recently released this year, Ferrer said.
Jover allegedly was in drug abuse before his imprisonment and continued his marijuana addiction upon release.
“Grabe siya maggamit sang marijuana amo na nahimo niya ini nga mga bagay nga masiling naton tuman na kabudlay para sa isa ka normal nga tawo,” Ferrer added.
Jover was rushed to Buenavista Emergency Hospital but was pronounced dead due to multiple gunshot wounds.
Ferrer said they have yet to identify the firearm used by the suspects as there were no recoveries from the crime scene.
Police theorized that relatives of one of Jover’s victims’ might have carried out the vengeance killing.
