ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The Department of the Interior and Local Government is now looking into those elected Sangguniang Kabataan who did not undergo the mandatory training.

Information Officer Chrysty Garnace of DILG-Capiz Provincial Office said that some elected SKs failed to attend the one-day mandatory training, which is a requirement for their assumption into office.

“We look into the reasons why they failed to attend the training for the Provincial Management Team to decide whether to schedule a special training for them will be conducted,” Garnace said, stressing that should there be a special training for them not later than June 30.

Garnace said that the expenses for the special training will be personally borne by the elected SK participants.

The newly elected SK and barangay officials will only sit for two years as the next polls will be in 2020.

The mandatory training for elected SK officials from the 16 towns and city in Capiz started last May 18 to 25.

Garnace also reminded both the elected and those candidates who lost in the recent elections to file their statement of contributions and expenditures (SOCE) not later than June 13, 2018.

Other follow-up training will likewise be done for both the SK and barangay officials, she said. (PIA-Capiz)
