Cops raid bunkhouse used as ‘drug den’

ROXAS City Capiz – Five persons were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation on a bunkhouse that served as a drug den at Arnaldo Boulevard, Barangay Inzo Arnaldo here evening of August 7, 2018.

The PNP Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) mounted the raid which led to the arrest of Tommy Isiderio, 34, and his live-in partner Joyce Daniel, 28, both residents of the said place.

The two are believed to be operators of the drug den located at Gaisano Mall on Arnaldo Boulevard.

Police also arrested Rodelio dela Cruz, 38, of Barangay Lawaan and alleged supplier of illegal drugs to Isiderio; Jesus Carlos Andrada, 29, of San Roque St.; and Jaiveh Duno, 33, of Barangay Tiza here.

Another suspect, a certain Dondon Miranda who was at the place during the operation, escaped.

According to Senior Inspector Kennith Bermejo, RDEU team leader, they subjected the group to surveillance after receiving that several persons frequented the bunkhouse even at the wee hours of the day.

At first, the poseur-buyer ordered three sachets of shabu from Isiderio. But due to lack of supply, Isiderio ordered more from Dela Cruz.

During the negotiations, Dela Cruz was with Miranda to hand over the drugs to the operatives but the latter escaped.

The other suspects were arrested inside the bunkhouse when the operation was conducted.

The operatives recovered from the suspects 13 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P180,000; several drug paraphernalia; a homemade 12-gauge shotgun with 8 live ammunitions; a .38-caliber recover with 8 live ammunitions; and the P33,500 marked money.

The five suspects are facing charges for violations of RA 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
