ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 28-year-old construction worker died, while another was wounded in a stabbing incident at Poblacion, Tapaz, Capiz, afternoon of Sept 15, 2018.
Jade Cervas of Brgy. San Roque, Tapaz, Capiz; and Elvin Jimenez of Brgy. Minan, also in Tapaz town, were binge drinking in a bar with a certain Ariel Unog of Brgy. Roxas 8 before the incident happened.
After consuming several bottles of liquor, the three left on board a motorcycle driven by Cervas.
One of them reportedly asked to stop the motorcycle to urinate.
But when the motorcycle stopped, Unog got off the motorcycle, drew a knife from his waist, and stabbed Cervas in the abdomen.
Unog later faced Jimenez and allegedly tried to stab the latter. Jimenez was hit but he was able to parry the knife.
Jimenez and Cervas were brought to the Tapaz District Hospital but the latter was declared dead on arrival.
The police mounted a manhunt operation against Unog, who immediately fled after the incident.
The police eyed grudges as the motive for the stabbing.
