ROXAS CITY, Capiz—The Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) is ready to send officers to augment the government forces in the ongoing siege of Marawi City.
Senior Supt. Samuel Nacion, Capiz police director, said the CPPO contingent is on standby and ready for deployment to Mindanao.
But Nacion refused to divulge the number of police personnel to be deployed to help in the fight against Maute terrorists.
“I’m just waiting directives coming from Camp Crame before deploying the troop”, Nacion said.
Meanwhile, Mayor Leodegario Labao Jr. of Mambusao, Capiz said they will offer financial assistance to the family of Sergeant Throlen “Obet” Lago, of Brgy. Tumalalud, Mambusao who was killed in the Marawi City siege.
The municipal government will give P500,000 Lago’s family aside from the job at the Department of Interior and Local Government to be offered to his wife.
