ANOTHER police officer failed random illegal drug test weeks ago.

Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, Western Visayas police chief, confirmed that the cop holds a rank of Police Officer 1 (PO1) and is assigned to Station 7 of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).

The officer took part in the surprise drug test conducted on August 17.

The cop reported to Bulalacao’s office at Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) headquarters in Camp Delgado, Iloilo City on September 6.

“There might still be policemen who are influenced into using illegal drugs. But just the same, I don’t want them to stay any longer in the PNP,” Bulalacao added.

Bulalacao said they would immediately pursue summary dismissal proceedings once the confirmatory test revealed that the cop was indeed using illegal drugs.

The region’s top cop vowed that they would regularly conduct random drug test as part of internal cleansing efforts.

“If we arrest those involved in illegal drugs, we should have the moral ascendancy to do it,” he added.

The PRO-6 has earlier launched a hotline where the public can report any information on police scalawags or crimes in the community.

The information could be reported to mobile numbers 0998-9673651 and 0998-5629523.
