19 marijuana plants recovered in Roxas City

ROXAS City, Capiz – Police recovered 19 marijuana plants from a vacant lot in Barangay Punta Tabuc here evening of Jan. 27, 2016.

A joint team of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Aklan and Capiz swooped down on the lot after a confidential informant tipped them of marijuana plants grown in the area.

Insp. Roberto Fajardo, CIDG-Capiz chief, the plants were cultivated in pots and were already five feet high.

Police failed to catch the persons responsible for raising the plants.

The plants were which were turned over to the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) for proper disposition.

Senior Supt. Robert Rodriguez, Capiz police director, asked concerned authorities to conduct a thorough investigation to locate the owner of the plants.


Punta Tabuc had been tagged by local authorities as a haven of drug pushers and users in Roxas City.
