JOSE ROY Santos Jr., 21, of Iloilo City, is a public speaker, a student leader, and an Outstanding Boy Scout of the Philippines and is now a Certified Public Accountant working for one of the biggest international accounting firms, KPMG RG Manabat & Co.
Santos comes from a poor family but is blessed with parents who constantly remind him to pray to God.
He started to showcase his talents and prowess in public speaking and leadership when he was in high school.
When he entered college, he followed his trigonometry teacher’s advice to choose a course where he can develop himself outside of his comfort zone. So, he took up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at Central Philippine University where he met his significant other.
He joined the student politics and won different positions in Central Philippine University Republic.
He had his internship at KPMG RG Manabat & Co., and after passing the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination in October 2017, he applied at the same firm where he knows he can grow himself.
He said that the firm actually goes in line with his values and properly describes him as who he is now.
Santos is still young in the public accounting profession but he is committed to “do all things with love because at the end of all things, it’s the things we do for love that counts.”
