MICHAEL Angelo Dejando, 20, of Oton, Iloilo, who is one of the 2018 Elite Circle of Five awardees of The Outstanding Students of Iloilo Awards (TOSIA), has established his purpose and is prepared to carry it out.
When he began his journey at West Visayas State University College of Education, he realized that his happiness and purpose in life lie in the teaching profession. He took up Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Physical Science.
He participated in the 2017 Ayala Young Leaders Congress (AYLC) which shaped him as a student leader. He was encouraged and empowered to make a difference and founded a youth organization in Oton called League of Youth Advocates and Leaders (LOYAL).
With the help of many people and institutions, he discovered his strengths in writing, speaking, doing graphic arts and videos, and teaching. He capitalized on his strengths and used them to achieve his goals.
As a college student, he received the Outstanding Student Teacher award and the Most Outstanding BSEd Student Teacher Award.
He chose Physical Science because he loves science and wants to align himself with the demands for teaching science under the K to 12 curriculum.
He said do not settle for less and always better your best.
