Justin Fields market has only reinforced Ryan Poles likely QB decision
The Daily Guardian
As the NFL off-season continues to unfold, the future of Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields remains uncertain. General manager Ryan Poles has expressed his desire to do right by Fields, but has yet to receive an offer he can’t refuse for a trade.
Despite Poles’ efforts, the NFL seems indifferent towards Fields, with no team saving a starting job for him this off-season. The decision of USC quarterback Caleb Williams to delay taking a physical may have further complicated matters for the Bears.
Poles inherited Fields from former general manager Ryan Pace, and now faces the responsibility of deciding the young quarterback’s future. The market has reinforced the notion that the Bears may potentially draft Williams as Fields’ future with the team remains unclear.
Former Bears players Kyle Long and Chase Daniel have suggested that the Bears should keep both Williams and Fields, with Williams starting and Fields as a backup. However, it is unlikely that another team will offer more than a fourth-round pick for Fields given his current status as a backup option.
With backup roles filling up on other teams, finding a landing spot for Fields has become increasingly challenging. Potential landing spots for Fields could include the Titans, Seahawks, Broncos, Eagles, or Jets, but no clean fit has emerged thus far.
As the off-season progresses, all eyes will be on the Bears and Poles as they navigate the uncertain future of Justin Fields in the NFL. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
