‘In the name of God… go away’: UK Conservative MP calls for Boris Johnson to resign

(CNN) – A Conservative UK MP on Wednesday openly called on Conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson to resign from the British Parliament on Wednesday.
It is the latest stream of criticism that Johnson has received from both legislators and citizens for his alleged participation in a party held at his residence in violation of COVID-19 rules.
Conservative MP David Davies told parliament that he “like many people on these benches” “often spent weeks and months defending the prime minister in front of angry constituents”.

“I expect my leaders to take responsibility for the actions they take. Yesterday (for Tuesday), he did the opposite,” Davis continued.
Davis went on to blurt out a quote once given by lawmaker Leo Emory to the wartime prime minister, Neville Chamberlain: “It has been sitting too long for the good work he has done. In the name of God.” , go.”
Responding to Davis, Boris Johnson responded by saying that he “has taken full responsibility for what he has done in this government and during the pandemic.”
