Specifically, the main emitting countries in the first seven months of this year were: France, with about 2.1 million tourists and an increase of 1.8% compared to the same period in 2020, Germany with about 1.9 million and an increase of 6.4% and the rest of Europe, with more than 1.1 million Tourists, 0.3% more.
The expenditures of foreign tourists who visited Spain in the first seven months decreased by 23.2% compared to the same period in 2020, reaching 10,996 million euros. Only in July in Spain about 4.4 million international tourists, an increase of 78.3% over the same month in 2020.
France was the main country of residence, with 874,189 tourists, which is 19.9% of the total and an increase of 46.6% compared to July 2020. Germany and the United Kingdom are next in terms of the number of tourists visiting Spain. Specifically, Germany contributes 707,331 visitors, a 64.5% increase in annual rate, and the United Kingdom 555,183 visitors, 46.5% more.
