Tesda offers scholarship for HS grads

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority – Iloilo (Tesda-Iloilo) is offering short courses under the Training for Work Scholarship Program for high school graduates in the province.
Tesda provincial director Toni June Tamayo said there are 75 slots available, which include food and beverage services and housekeeping.
Tamayo said these short courses will last for 45 days or almost two months and are offered on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis only.
“We have still remaining slots to fill in before other additional slots will come in from Central Office,” he said.
Apart from the present slots, Tamayo said around 1, 370 slots for short courses will be available starting next month.
These short courses include customer electronic servicing, 100; food and beverage services, 125; computer hardware servicing, 488; commercial cooking, 166; driving, 100; automotive servicing, 100; massage therapy, 75; hilot or wellness massage, 125 and bar tending, 91.
To date, there were already 34, 908 high school graduates who availed of the scholarship since it started in 2008. (PNA)
