SIPALAY City, Negros Occ. – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Community Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-CENRO) in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental has completed the process of land titling for 377 patentees here.
At Gil Montilla Covered Court, 185 agricultural patents were recently distributed, the first in a series of distributions.
The distribution was made through the Handog Titulo program of the DENR Region 6 and with the joint efforts of Negros Occidental Provincial ENR Officer (PENRO) Edgardo M. Rostata, Kabankalan OIC-CENR Officer Rosievel I. Dimatulac and Mayor Oscar C. Montilla Jr.
“We have decided to make the distribution in a seriessince beneficiaries coming from far-flung barangays could not easily make it to the Handog Titulo schedule. In as much as we want to be of service, we will bring the distribution near their respective areas until we are done with distributing all patents to them,” Rostata said.
Handog Titulo is one of the government’s social programs aimed at alleviating poverty and providing security of tenure to the Filipino people.
“We look forward to happy new land owners to harness the productivity potential of their lands, and make it profitable for them and their families. As land owners, they can now create economic opportunities for themselves and others thereby contributing to a more vibrant economy for Sipalay City,” said DENR 6 Regional Director Jim O Sampulna.
