PMA to conduct entrance exams in Bacolod

THE Philippine Military Academy (PMA) will conduct its nationwide simultaneous Entrance Examination on Sept 9, 2018 at the STI-West Negros University, Bacolod City.

The examinations will be from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m.

Prior to the examinations, applicants can process their papers on Sept. 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and Sept. 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at STI-West Negros University.

There will be 40 examination centers all throughout the country.

Qualifications to be a PMA Cadet are as follows:

  • Natural Born Filipino Citizen.
  • Physically fit and of good moral character.
  • Single and has never been married.
  • Must pass the PMA Entrance Examination.
  • No Administrative / Criminal Case.
  • At least High School Graduate or must graduate not later than June of the year following the date of examination taken for Grade 12 students.
  • Height Requirement for both Male and Female is 5 feet (not to exceed 6’4″ for both).
  • At least 17 years old but not a day older than 22 years on 01 June of the year following the date of examination taken.


Successful applicants will be part of the PMA Class 2023. They will be officially admitted through an Oath-Taking Ceremony and Reception Rites on June 1, 2019.

The PMA Entrance Examination (PMAEE) is the first stage in the selection process for cadetship in the premier leadership training school in the country.

PMA cadet enjoys a full government scholarship. It means they do not have to pay any amount during the entire years of training where they will earn a degree in Bachelor of Science.

They are also commissioned as 2LT and Ensigns in the Armed Forces of the Philippines upon graduating from the academy.

This year marks the initial batch of Grade 12 students under the K to 12 Basic Education Program who will be graduating by 2019.

They will be allowed to take the PMAEE provided that they will graduate before 01 June 2019. PMAEE applicants will also come from college-level students and 4th year High School graduates of the old curriculum.

PMA is at the forefront of the AFP modernization program because its graduates will lead the AFP in the years to come.

As such, Cadets are at the receiving end to the state-of-the-art training facilities and equipment in PMA: model classrooms, new cadet barracks (student dorms), computer rooms, simulation rooms, fitness center, and PMA station hospital
