PHINMA University of Iloilo lauds winners in this year’s sports fest

ILOILO CITY, Philippines – PHINMA University of Iloilo (UI) congratulates the winners of its annual PHINMA UI Sports Fest competition held last November 27-29, 2018, at the PHINMA UI Gym.

Jalandoni Memorial National High School remained the undefeated Champions in the Basketball Category, in exciting, head-to-head playoffs with Alimodian National Comprehensive High School (1st runner up) and Fort San Pedro National High School (2nd runner up). The girls of Ramon Avanceña National High School, meanwhile, emerged as new Volleyball Champions, followed by Fort San Pedro National High School (1st runner up) and Jalandoni MNHS (2nd runner up).

This year’s winners will receive Handog Kaibigan Scholarships which grant them 50% discount on tuition and miscellaneous fees in any 4-5 year course that they choose, apart from the plaques, medals and cash prizes already given to them.  Sylvia Infante, PHINMA UI Senior Marketing Manager said, “We develop programs like these to strengthen our relationship with partner schools and impress in our student athletes the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie. Through this sports fest, we are able to promote athleticism and remain steadfast in our advocacy of making lives better through education.”

“We support our partner school, PHINMA UI in these events and we hope that they continue these programs in the future,” said Bernie Quiando, Basketball Coach of Jalandoni MNHS. “We want to help students use sports as stepping stones into reaching their dreams and becoming successful individuals someday”.
