ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The Philippine Red Cross in Capiz will soon have a new home.
According to PRC-Capiz Chapter Administrator Raymundo Martinez, the new 2-story building, which will be constructed on the agency’s current location, costs P10.5 million, more or less.
“We are now in the process of the rebidding of the project after the first bidding in December failed,” he said.
Martinez revealed that the German Red Cross contributed P2 million while the International Federation of Red Cross gave P2.5 million in grants.
The PRC national headquarters allotted P4 million while the remaining P2 million was shouldered by PRC-Capiz Chapter.
The new office is expected to be completed within this year.
Red Cross-Capiz will temporarily use the Capiz Medical Society Foundation building to continue its services to the public.
Meanwhile, the Rotary Club of Korea through the Rotary Club of Metro Roxas led by Joey Dela Cruz donated 1 unit refrigerated centrifuge to the Capiz Red Cross.
“This additional refrigerated centrifuge to our existing one here will help in the processing of the blood platelets and plasma especially that we are having a bloodletting activity in the province every day,” Martinez said. (PIA-Capiz)
