ROXAS City, Capiz – Barangay Milibili here underwent an evaluation for the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards national competition.
The evaluation happened on July 9, 2018 after Barangay Milibili was adjudged as the regional winner of the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards for the component city category in March.
Village chief Midelo Ocampo said the evaluation team was comprised of Vivian P. Suansing, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) assistant director; and Leilani Fajardo-Aspiras, state counsel of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Other members of the evaluation team were Jose Name Jr., Supreme Court chief judicial staff; Ma. Emelinda Aguilar, local government operations officer of the DILG; Julian Justice Ramos, a representative of the National Police Commission; and representatives from the non-governmental organizations.
Last year, Barangay Milibili also won the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards regional tilt and was hailed first runner-up in the national level.
“This year’s evaluation is stiffer because contending barangays from other component cities in the country are doing good, too,” Ocampo told The Daily Guardian.
Ocampo also stressed that a “strong Lupong Tagapamayapa helps decongest our lower courts with petty crimes,” thus “reducing the resources spent by the government.”
