SAN JOSE, Antique – The National Food Authority-Antique has completed the delivery of 7,465 bags of rice to Department Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Supplementary Feeding Program for day care pupils in different towns of the province for school year 2017-2018.
The Supplemental Feeding Program of DSWD sourced their rice requirement from NFA in the amount of P9,331,250 for the current school year, said Information Officer Lorelyn Bayog.
A total of 19,439 day care pupils throughout the province are the beneficiaries of this feeding program.
It was given in two tranches. The first delivery was done in August and the second tranche was completed on October 20, 2017.
NFA also thanked the support of the local government units through their Child Development Workers and designated officers receiving the goods during the delivery.
Meanwhile, NFA is sustaining its palay procurement program to ensure that the province will have enough buffer stocks especially during lean months.
The Mobile procurement program is also available in Valderrama, Antique where farmers have requested NFA to buy palay at the source as harvest season is at its peak.
NFA is encouraging farmers’ organizations to sell their palay to them and avail of incentives for the association. (PIA-Antique)
