IPHO cites best performing health partners

SAN JOSE, Antique – The Antique Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) cited the best performing health partners and program implementers during the 2nd “Pasidungog” held recently at Eagle’s Place here.

Information Officer Irene R. Duldoco said that the event also featured the emblem of the annual Pasidungog “Babaylan” to be given to the top performing Municipal Health Offices (MHOs) for preventive and promotive care and hospitals for its curative and rehabilitative care.

The emblem got its name from folk healers in the ancient times called ‘babaylan’ who strengthened and nourished the soul and physical well-being of a living person. In today’s generation, the Babaylans are the health workers who are on the frontline of providing public health services.

Thus, the Babaylan figure connotes exemplary performance of the MHOs or hospitals in providing health services, said Duldoco.
