THE Civil Service Commission (CSC) feted Dr. Vilma Limates, the chief for Management Services Division of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (PENRO) of Guimaras, as one of the 11 regional winners in the 2017 Search for Outstanding Government Workers under the Honors and Awards Program (HAP) during the celebration of the 117th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary on Sept 7, 2017 at SM City Iloilo.
CSC Commissioner Robert S. Martinez and Regional Director odolfo B. Encajonado conferred the Dangal ng Bayan Award to Dr. Limates in recognition of exemplary service nd for manifesting sincere commitment to environment protection.
One of her achievements is her daring resolve in forest protection and law enforcement which led to the discovery of rampant poaching of premium tree species (Red and White Lauan, Kamagong, and Kubi) in Hinobaan, Negros Occidental.
The annual search for Outstanding Government workers aims to recognize selfless commitment to render exemplary service and remarkable accomplishments in serving the public.
The CSC’s Honors Awards Program (HAP) has three award categories: Presidential Lingkod ng Bayan Award for exceptional contributions that had nationwide impact; Outstanding Public Official and Employees or the Dangal ng Bayan Award for consistent demonstration of exemplary ethical behavior in adherence to the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees; and Pagasa Award for outstanding contributions that directly benefit more than one department of the government.
