ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A total of 139 police officers in Capiz were promoted to the next higher rank.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 Director Chief Superintendent John C. Bulalacao recently led the donning and pinning of rank insignia to the newly promoted cops here during the Capiz Police Provincial Office’s celebration of the 117th Police Service Anniversary.

Of the total promoted police here, five were for Police Commissioned Officers (PCO) and 134 Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCO).

In his message, Bulalacao commended the Capiz PPO for the good performance it showed under the leadership of Police Provincial Director Samuel Nacion resulting in the recognition conferred by the Philippine National Police as this year’s Best Police Provincial Office in the country.

“The essence of good performance is unity and team effort. We do things well not because we want to be individually recognized but we pursue goals and targets under the principle of shared responsibility,” Bulalacao said.

He added “we should be inspired to work together as one in order to fulfill our mission and solemn duty.”

He said it is sad to note that there are some in the police ranks who succumbed to temptation in the pursuit of self-interest, tainting the police image through their involvement in corruption, criminality and illegal activities.

However, there are still many police officers who remain loyal to their oath, thus paving way for the greater hope of cleansing and the transformation in the organization.

As he addressed the newly promoted officers, he reminded them that promotion carries with it great responsibility.

“Promotion is a validation that a member possesses potentials as an asset in the organization,” Bulalacao said, adding that promotion is an affirmation that the promoted cops are on the right track.

He also urged the police officers not to fail the top officials and the police organization that gave them the privilege of being promoted. (PIA/Capiz)
