Cuartero town gets new pre-school building

ROXAS City – Parents and teachers are excited for their pre-school children to enjoy the new building of the Department of Education (DepEd).
According to Capiz Schools Division Preschool coordinator Heidelyn Geromiano, both parents and teachers barangay and municipal officials of Cuartero town expressed gratitude to the government for heeding their request for the pre-school building.
Geromiano said school, community officials and parents vowed to help maintain and preserve the project.
The one-classroom building complete with furnitures and fixtures, tiled comfort room and electric fans, is worth P843,000 and was constructed from April to June.
Some 53 children who enrolled in the kindergarten class in Maindang Elementary School are now using the classroom.
The blessing and turnover of the school building was graced by DepEd Social Studies Regional Supervisor Mary Hazel Vevien Pineda, Regional Kinder Supervisor Sonia Herezo, Capiz Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Roel Bermejo and Geromiano.
The town’s local officials, particularly the Sangguniang Bayan members were also present during the activity.
Geromiano said there is a significant increase in the number of pre-school teachers here in line with the full implementation of the K to 12 program this school year,
The Capiz division recorded some 13,654 enrollees in kinder with 18 teachers holding permanent positions and 406 contractual teachers. Last school year, there were only 14 pre-school permanent and 217 contractual teachers.
