OFWs’ families train on income literacy

TO PROMOTE financial education, Iloilo City Government through the Local Economic and Investment Promotion Office, in coordination with Atikha, conducted a Family Income Management Training for Families of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Hongkong at Penthouse, City Hall Nov 7, 2017.

“The training aims to encourage the OFWs’ families to save and invest for a successful reintegration and to link them to better business opportunities. We want to help the migrants and their families in changing their behavior towards saving,” said Jose Felino Resol, Jr. Atikha area development coordinator.

Fifteen participants listened to topics on Duality of Migration, Achieving Migration Goals, Family Income Management, Saving, Investing, Protecting yourself, Borrowing, Getting Out of Debt, and Family Management.

Atikha is a Non-Government Organization which provides ladderized programs and training among land-based and sea-based workers and their families. (Iloilo City PIO)
