BACOLOD City – Real estate developer Sta. Lucia Land and its joint venture partners led the groundbreaking of the first lakeside community in Negros Island at Barangay Rizal, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
La Alegria Residential Estates is the second undertaking of Sta. Lucia in Negros Occidental. Its main feature is a 5.7-hectare manmade lake.
Eduardo Tirona, president of Orchard Property Marketing Corporation (OMPC) which is the marketing arm of Sta. Lucia, said they are very positive of their new project in Negros Occidental following the success of Manville Royale in Bacolod City.
Tirona said the property was formerly owned by Claudio Lopez Inc. which is also their joint venture partner.
He said the advantages of the site is its proximity to Bacolod-Silay Airport and the future Magic Island Theme Park more or less seven kilometers from La Alegria.
Tirona also noted the very dynamic and very aggressive nature of development in Silay City.
Unlike Manville Royale, however, Tirona said La Alegria aims to cater to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), middle and lower middle class families and individuals.
It offers home and lot packages unlike their previous lot only packages.
“If they buy and stay here, they will feel more at ease even with their hardships abroad because the property pricing here is cheap,” Tirona said. “Hopefully they will find joy here.”
Tirona also said La Alegria is very different from other subdivisions in the province since beside from the lake which local residents can use for water-related sports and fishing, they will also get to enjoy the majestic view of the mountains of Northern Negros.
“The lake is over 5-hectares and the property is 70-hectares all in all,” he said.
He added that the development cost of the property is more than P500 million and development process would take more than a year and half.
