ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Governor Antonio Del Rosario urged businessmen in Capiz to make the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) trade expo a venue to propel the Capiznon brand.
In his message read by Capiz Local Economic Investment and Promotion Officer Ronald So during the opening of the MSME Week Trade Expo on July 24, 2018, Del Rosario said the expo serves as a dialogue platform for progress.
“One important factor to be considered for any expo event is that such experience is dedicated to increase the awareness of the general public,” the governor said.
He also highlighted the important role of MSMEs as one of the key components to sustain the long-term economic growth in not only Capiz but the entire country.
“Without the MSME sector and without the innovation it takes to nurture the growth of businesses, what we have today will never be possible,” he said.
Del Rosario lauded the confidence of the MSMEs and for the Capiznon identity which helped attain “inclusive economic growth that redounds to increased livelihood opportunities for the people, and for an empowered and productive citizenry.”
Showcased during the five-day trade expo by 45 exhibitors are Capiznon food products, wearable and craft, and horticulture.
Department of Trade and Industry Assistant Regional Director Ermelinda Pollentes, Provincial MSME Development Council Chairperson Danilo So Chan, Roxas City Councilors Powell Del Rosario and Corazon Tiangco and other government agency officials and representatives attended the expo opening.
